Pastor Nicholas Nettles

                                                                                                                    
Pastor Nicholas E. Nettles is a native of Camden, Arkansas where he is the son of the late Charles Nettles and Gladys Nettles. He was raised in a Christian home as his father served as Sunday School Superintendent and his mother served on the trustee board. He excelled in Basketball and Track at Camden High School and graduated in 1989. In pursuit of his education, Pastor Nettles enrolled at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. He Graduated from U.A.P.B. with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology in the Summer of 1997. While in college, The Lord touched Pastor Nettles’ heart to Preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ at the age of twenty-one. He began his gospel ministry at St. James A.M.E. Church in Camden, Arkansas where he preached his first sermon on December 12, 1993. Pastor Nettles served as an A.M.E. pastor for five years until he United with The Greater St..Paul Baptist Church in Camden in March 2003 Under Dr. George E. Smith.

On July 17,2003, Pastor Nettles was called to pastor the Sweet Home Baptist Church in Smackover, Arkansas. Since beginning his assignment at Sweet Home, Pastor Nettles has implemented several new ministries and programs to include Annual Men’s Prayer Breakfast, Women’s Enrichment Retreat, Saturday Morning Community Clean-up, reactivation of the Youth Department, Proclamation of the Word Bible Class, purchase of stain glass windows, piano, and new church sign. Pastor Nettles has a heart for the people of the church and Smackover community where he often visits the sick and homebound and gives counsel to heavy-laden hearts. He is also the Author of a Sermon Booklet entitled “Sermons for Bi-vocational Pastors”

  • Assistant Dean: Ouachita District Congress of Christian Education
  • Proclaimed the Gospel in Arkansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Illinois, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, Texas, Tennessee
  • Appointed 4th Vice-President of The CMBSC Congress of Christian Education.
  • Lecturer: Ouachita District Baptist Association and Ouachita District Congress of Christian Education
  • Young Men’s Division instructor in the Ouachita District Youth Convention

In the midst of his numerous community and religious involvements, Pastor Nettles is currently pursuing a Master of Theology Degree at Missionary Baptist College and Institute in Little Rock, Arkansas. He is happily married to the former Wanquita L. Parker and is the father of three children, Shynai Nichole, Jalen Charles, and Nicholas Jr.
